The arts are alive and well in Wakkerstroom

The hamlet’s Art & Crafts ramble offered something for everyone

The Art & Craft Ramble in Wakkerstroom brought a large number of visitors into the village over the long weekend of 16-19 June. Growing annually, the event gives great exposure to local talent. Ehibiting alongside local artists were Judy Jordan and Antoinette Walters from Newcastle; Sicelo & Thully Ziqubu from Charlestown; Yvonne Lariviere from Howick; Woza Moya from Hillcrest; Michelle Moreland and Engela van der Hoven from Johannesburg and Sheran van der Merwe from Pretoria.

Activities included a colouring-in competition for children, craft courses and a hugely successful closing auction, which raised R8000 for Dana Frail Care.

Next year’s event is planned for 16-18 June, so mark the date in your diary – now!
